What Does a 40-Year-Old Version Look Like?
This is where the headline becomes particularly intriguing.
A baby born in 1983 would have reached approximately 40 years old in 2023.
But knowing someone’s birth weight does not allow us to accurately predict their adult appearance.
The adult could be tall.
He could be average height.
He could be muscular.
He could have an entirely ordinary body type.
He could look completely different from the newborn photograph.
And that’s perfectly normal.
A newborn’s appearance tells us very little about exactly what that person will look like four decades later.
Even identical twins can develop different physical characteristics as they age.
So an image of the newborn cannot be used to predict the adult.
