Remembering Sam Neill
Following his death, tributes poured in from colleagues, filmmakers, fans, and people who had worked with him throughout his remarkable career.
Steven Spielberg, who directed the original Jurassic Park, remembered Neill warmly and described him as exceptionally collaborative. He also reflected on the special bond shared by Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum across the franchise.
For millions of viewers, however, the memories are simpler.
A determined paleontologist.
A group of scientists facing dinosaurs.
A calm voice in the middle of chaos.
And an actor whose performances became part of movie history.
Sam Neill’s cancer-free announcement should have marked the beginning of another chapter.
Instead, his sudden passing made it a bittersweet final chapter in a life and career that touched audiences around the world.
