Nostradamus and His Predictions: Three Interpretations Some Connect to the Near Future

For centuries, few names have generated as much fascination, debate, and mystery as Nostradamus.

Born Michel de Nostredame in 1503, the French physician, astrologer, and writer became famous for a collection of cryptic verses known as Les Prophéties. Published in the 16th century, the work contains hundreds of four-line poems, or quatrains, that have repeatedly been interpreted as predictions of future events.

Supporters believe some of the verses appear remarkably similar to major historical events.

Skeptics argue that the poems are so vague and symbolic that they can be connected to almost anything after the event occurs.

That disagreement has continued for generations.

Today, Nostradamus remains a popular subject whenever people discuss war, political upheaval, natural disasters, technological change, or possible events that could shape the future.
