My sister kept walking around my husband wearing only a towel and called it a “test”—then one day, he did something that made her turn bright red. When my younger sister Kayla called me sobbing after her boyfriend of six years kicked her out, I didn’t hesitate. She had two suitcases, under $300, and nowhere to go.

He turned toward Kayla.

She smiled.

“You’re staring.”

Andrew nodded.

“You’ve been calling this a test all week, right?”

Her smile became smug.

“Exactly.”

“Good.”

He put down his coffee.

“Then you shouldn’t have a problem with what I’m about to do.”

Kayla’s expression changed.

“What?”

Andrew walked toward the hallway.

He stopped beside the closet.

Then he reached inside.

And pulled out something that made Kayla’s face change completely.

## The Lesson

It wasn’t romantic.

It wasn’t flirtatious.

It wasn’t what she had expected.

Andrew simply held up a large bathrobe.

Then he tossed it toward her.

“Here.”

Kayla caught it.

“What is this?”

“A solution.”

She stared at him.

“You’re serious?”

“Completely.”

He pointed toward the stairs.

“You’ve been told repeatedly that this makes your sister uncomfortable.”

Kayla’s face reddened.

“So?”

“So you’re staying in our home.”

His voice remained calm.

“That means our boundaries apply to you too.”

She looked at me.

I didn’t say anything.

For once, I didn’t need to.

Andrew continued.

“You said this was a test.”

Kayla crossed her arms.

“It is.”

“Then here’s your result.”

He paused.

“You didn’t prove anything about me.”

Kayla said nothing.

“You only proved that you’re willing to deliberately make your sister uncomfortable after she gave you a place to stay.”

Her face became even redder.

“That’s not fair.”

Andrew shook his head.

“What’s not fair is turning someone’s hospitality into an experiment.”

## She Finally Lost Her Temper

Kayla threw the robe onto the couch.

“You two are ridiculous!”

“No,” I said quietly.

“We’re done.”

She looked at me.

“What does that mean?”
