My sister kept walking around my husband wearing only a towel and called it a “test”—then one day, he did something that made her turn bright red. When my younger sister Kayla called me sobbing after her boyfriend of six years kicked her out, I didn’t hesitate. She had two suitcases, under $300, and nowhere to go.

“So you’re deliberately doing this?”

She shrugged.

“Maybe.”

“Why?”

“Because if he fails, that’s on him.”

I stood there silently.

I had welcomed my sister into my home when she had nowhere else to go.

I had bought groceries for her.

I had let her use my car.

I had helped her rewrite her résumé.

And now she was deliberately creating situations designed to test my marriage.

I finally understood.

This wasn’t carelessness.

It was a game.

## I Told Andrew Everything

That evening, I told Andrew exactly what Kayla had said.

He listened without interrupting.

When I finished, his jaw tightened.

For several seconds, he didn’t say anything.

Then he sighed.

“I knew something was off.”

“You did?”

“She keeps putting me in uncomfortable situations.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because she’s your sister.”

That answer made me emotional.

He wasn’t trying to create a family war.

He was trying to avoid making the situation worse.

But now that I knew Kayla was doing it deliberately, I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

“What should we do?”

Andrew looked at me.

“Whatever you decide.”

“You’re not angry?”

“I am.”

He paused.

“But I’m not going to give her the reaction she’s looking for.”

That sentence stayed with me.

Because he was right.

Kayla wanted drama.

She wanted to see whether she could provoke us.

She wanted to turn our marriage into an experiment.

And I was tired of participating.
