## Starting Again at the End of the Story
Reconnecting with my sister didn’t feel like returning to where we had left off.
It felt like starting again.
We had to learn each other’s personalities as adults.
We discovered different interests.
Different habits.
Different memories.
Different ways of seeing the world.
In some ways, we were strangers.
In other ways, the connection was immediate.
There are bonds that time can weaken.
And there are bonds that time merely hides.
Ours seemed to belong to the second category.
## The Lesson I Never Expected
For most of my life, I thought our story was about losing someone.
Now I think it is also about finding someone.
For seventy years, I carried the belief that the chapter had ended.
It hadn’t.
