## The “50 Years” Answer
The viral wording is often designed so that **50 years feels like the natural answer**.
Perhaps the puzzle involves a person’s age, a time difference, or a statement about what happened decades ago.
The number 50 is visually and mathematically attractive because it’s a round number.
And round numbers feel reassuring.
If someone tells you that a person was 50 years old, your brain doesn’t have to work very hard to process it.
But a good puzzle asks you to slow down.
Before writing an answer, identify exactly what is being measured.
Is the question asking for:
* The person’s age?
* The number of years between two events?
* The person’s age at a particular event?
* The number of years that have passed?
* Or something else entirely?
Those aren’t interchangeable.
