Originally, Unchained Melody was just a movie song, written by Alex North and Hy Zaret for the feature film Unchained.
The first version, by Todd Duncan, was elegant, almost restrained. A beautiful ballad, certainly… but still far from the global phenomenon it would become.

Ten years later, everything changed thanks to The Righteous Brothers.
